Mindful Stretching

Exercises to Relax and Rejuvenate the Body

Mindful Stretching

Mindful stretching is a wonderful way to relax both your body and mind. By focusing on your breath and movements, you can release tension and improve flexibility. Here are some simple mindful stretching exercises you can incorporate into your daily routine:

1. Neck Rolls

Start by sitting or standing up straight. Gently drop your chin to your chest and slowly roll your head in a circle, bringing your right ear towards your right shoulder, then back, and then towards your left shoulder. Repeat in the opposite direction.

2. Forward Fold

Stand with your feet hip-width apart. Slowly bend at the waist, reaching towards your toes. Let your head and neck relax. Hold the stretch for a few breaths and then slowly roll up to standing position.

3. Seated Spinal Twist

Sit on the floor with your legs extended in front of you. Bend your right knee and place your right foot on the outside of your left knee. Twist your torso to the right and place your left elbow on the outside of your right knee. Hold the stretch and then switch sides.

4. Child's Pose

Start on your hands and knees, then sit your hips back towards your heels while reaching your arms forward. Rest your forehead on the mat and breathe deeply, feeling the stretch in your back and shoulders.
